Honoring our Salem Veterans

Honoring our Salem Veterans

Every year, the Salem Sunday School children honor those of our members who are veterans of the armed services. This year, the children honored those vets who served during the Vietnam War era. In past years, Members who served during WWII, Korea, and the Cold War were honored.

Gordon Lowrey, Korean War vet, and his grandson Tyler Houser, honored the Veterans by handing out                    "Challenge Coins" that commemorated 50 years since the Vietnam War started in 1965.                                     Thank you Gordon and Tyler!

Sunday School student and Boy Scout Jake Mitchell leads the congregation in the Pledge of Allegiance to our Nation's flag.

Salem members share their stories about their time in the service.                                     Members served all over the world during the time of the Vietnam War.

The Salem children enjoyed hearing the stories the men shared with us.
